The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Mark Cortale, has added two new leading ladies to the line-up of Seth Rudetsky's Broadway Concert Series, for the 2015-16 season. Performances by Tony-Award winners Kelli O'Hara and Sutton Foster have been added due to popular demand, completing the roster of Broadway powerhouses to perform with Sirius XM star Seth Rudetsky. The series kicks off with Tony-Award winner Audra McDonald on Wednesday, October 7. Additional performances in the series will take place on Friday, January 29 (Kelli O'Hara), Thursday, March 3 (Sutton Foster), and as previously announced, Thursday, May 5 (Megan Hilty). All performances will be held at the Merriam Theater at 8:00 p.m. In this unique series, Rudetsky will serve as pianist and host, engaging in intimate and witty conversations with the Broadway stars, all while presenting an evening of stellar performances of musical theater favorites.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic on the CALIFORNIA 2016 tour, May 3-7, 2016. The tour will feature four orchestral concerts with appearances in Costa Mesa, San Diego, and San Francisco.

The enthralling, Tony Award-winning drama inspired by the life of artist Mark Rothko continues the 2015-2016 ESL Wilson Stage Series as Geva Theatre Center presents Red by John Logan and directed by Skip Greer in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage from October 20 through November 15.

Artistic Director David Agler today announced the cast for the main evening operas in the forthcoming Wexford Festival, opening Wednesday, 21 October. A mixture of new and familiar voices makes up the 64-member company, comprising 20 principal roles, 32 chorus-members and 10 dancers. They hail from several different countries, including Ireland, Britain, South Africa, Canada, US, France, Italy, Australia and Malta. When including the creative teams, production team, orchestra and crew, the full company of this year's Festival is likely to be in excess of 200.

The Manhattan Institute has announced that James Grant has won the 2015 Hayek Book Prize for his book The Forgotten Depression: 1921: The Crash that Cured Itself (Simon & Schuster). Grant will receive a $50,000 award and will deliver the annual Hayek lecture in New York in June. 'To share in the luminousness of the Hayek name is a thrill beyond compare. I am humbled, grateful and delighted, in equal measure,' said James Grant. Amity Shlaes, who chairs the jury for the prize, said, 'At a time when the automatic response of governments to a recession is to intervene, Grant reminds us that the opposite response, no intervention, has also worked.' 'The Hayek Book Prize celebrates authors who best represent the principles of F.A. Hayek. James Grant's book not only represents those principles but does so by reflecting both the scholarship and universal nature of Hayek,' Manhattan Institute President Larry Mone added. The Hayek Book Prize is awarded in New York each year. The finalists for this year's prize were:

American Ballet Theatre's 2015 season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. The season will be highlighted by the New York Premiere of Alexei Ratmansky's all-new production of The Sleeping Beauty, a revival of Lar Lubovitch's Othello and repertory programs featuring historic works in celebration of the Company's 75th Anniversary Season.

Last March, the West Coast premiere of the Yiddish Purim musical Di Megileh of Itzik Manger enjoyed a huge success, with four standing-room-only performances at the Jewish Community Center of the East Bay. In celebration of the 2015 Purim season, the New Yiddish Theater, in conjunction with the 30th Jewish Music Festival, takes pride in presenting a reprise with the same all-star lead performers and an updated choral arrangement. Performances will be given at 8 pm on February 26 & 28, March 1 & 3, with a matinee on Monday, March 2 at 1:30 pm. As before, all of the spoken and sung Yiddish will be super-titled in English.

Louis Jourdan, a French actor famous for American film and television appearances in the Oscar-winning musical GIGI, MADAME BOVARY, CAN-CAN, and THE FIRST OLYMPICS: ATHENS, 1896, as well as Broadway appearances in shows such as ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER, has died. The Hollywood Walk of Fame winner was 93.
